Five years ago, the idea of living full-time in an RV wasn’t even on our radar. As a Navy family, we were used to moving every few years, but always found comfort in the community of friends stationed alongside us. No matter where we landed, we were never really on our own.
When it came time for Brooke’s retirement, we faced a new challenge: where do we put down roots? With friends and family scattered across the country, the idea of a “forever home” felt impossible. One day, almost as a joke, the thought of RV living came up. Little did we know that “side comment” would change the course of our lives.
After a much-needed break, Brooke quickly realized he wasn’t built for sitting still. He toyed with the idea of being a handyman or even finishing his doctorate to teach. Two very opposite ends the of spectrum and had him struggling to figure out what to choose. The idea of him working as an RV tech sorta just landed on our laps, and it made sense as the perfect option. With a background in working on brakes and a passion for hands-on work, focusing on trailer brakes and suspension became a natural fit.
Now, Brooke has the privilege of serving the RV community—not just with having a job that has a physical aspect, but by prioritizing safety and education in a part of the industry that desperately needs it. Our search for a “forever spot” has been put on hold, because right now we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be: helping RVers travel safely and confidently.
Life has a funny way of surprising you, but we’re grateful for every twist and turn that led us here. We don’t know where we’ll be five years from now, but we’re confident that this journey will continue to shape us—and the RV community—for the better.
